Now you can present the most popular variant of our 4 guided tours to a loved one: Variant 4 - Behind the scenes, duration 60 minutes.
A guided backstage tour last about 60 minutes and starts at our control center. A group contains no more than 6 persons and is guided through maintenance aisles.
After being welcomed by your guide, you will proceed directly to the American section. Your guide will give a brief introduction with interesting details at the start of the tour. The next stop is Scandinavia with it's large water basin and hidden staging area for ships. During the tour, your guide will explain interesting details regarding the concept, modelling, development and technology of this area. You are welcome to take pictures or use your video cam! Hamburg is the next place to see on the tour. As in other parts, you will gain an insight on wiring, decoders, computers etc. here. Thereafter, the tour stops over in Knuffingen, the most famous city in the Wunderland. You will learn details and functions about our “intelligent” cars, the Car System. At the end of the tour you get to see the charging-area of the Car System, which is located in a maintenance room, directly adjacent to the construction area of the new airport. If all members of the group agree, the suggested order of the tour can be modified.
Please note: This gift certificate is valid for one child and does not include the entrance fee! Even with a gift certificate, guided tours should be reserved due to the high demand.
For your safety and comfort, we unfortunately have to reject people weighing in at more than 120 kg ( roughly 264 pounds, the emphasis being on the bodie's circumference here), because parts of the maintenance aisles are very narrow! This point mainly applies to voluminous and impaired visitors.

With your ticket or voucher, you are entitled to use the door marked "gebuchte Führungen" (booked guided tours) in the 3rd floor. Should a waiting line occur here, then this is a short line in front of the cashier and NOT the regular waiting line. Therefore, we kindly ask you join this line for a couple of minutes and present you ticket/voucher to the cashier. To avoid any aggravation, we kindly ask you to behave unobtrusive as it already happened a couple of times that people in the waiting line became very angry when others were preferred.
