The 124 series comprises the W 124, S 124, C 124, A 124, F 124, V 124, and VF 124 models and belongs to the upper mid-size class of Daimler-Benz. The vehicles were produced from late autumn 1984 to mid-1997, with production in India continuing until 1998. Daimler-Benz initially referred to the 124 series as the "mid-size series". In the course of the second facelift and the change in model designations at Mercedes-Benz, the designation E-Class was introduced for the W 124 in mid-1993. The 210 series was developed as the successor to the 124 series. It was first presented in May 1995.
