DVD WUNDERLAND - The MovieThe DVD of the fantastic cinema documentary. Featuring previously unpublished archive material, the film looks back at the complicated childhood of Wunderland founders Frederik and Gerrit. It shows how their joy of playing inspired the craziest ideas and how, together with their early fascination with model building, these ideas ultimately laid the foundation for Wunderland. As animated miniature versions of themselves, Gerrit and Frederik step into the Wunderland landscape in the film, where they discover the craziest details as children, have exciting encounters with some of the more than 289,000 figures, and learn to understand and control the complex technology behind it all. A fast-paced adventure begins! Alongside emotional interviews, the adventure takes them all the way to South America to meet the friendly model-building family Martinez. Together, sections of Rio de Janeiro and Patagonia were created over several years in their workshops near Buenos Aires. What began as an intercontinental construction project involving numerous model builders from Hamburg and Argentina quickly developed into true friendships across continents that we would not want to be without. The film "WUNDERLAND - From Childhood Dream to Global Success" opened in 523 cinemas across Germany, brought Miniatur Wunderland to the big screen for the first time, and immediately reached third place in the cinema charts on its opening weekend!
