This makes the donations much fairer. Herzenswünsche e.V. is a nationwide charity dedicated to granting the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill children and young people. Around 70 volunteers and three full-time staff members work closely with parents, doctors, therapists, and, most importantly, the children themselves to discover which special wish can give a child renewed courage and strength. Fulfilling a long-cherished dream can make a significant difference in helping children cope with the challenges of everyday hospital life. They stand by them through pain, grief, and anger, remain present for as long as they are needed (sometimes for years), and work together with them to find a new perspective on life. In Hamburg alone, WEISSER RING provides approximately 14,000 hours of support to victims and their relatives every year.
