The Kupferhof and its team will take care of children and young adults who are severely disabled and need care and attention around the clock. This way, parents, who tend to their children 24/7 can have a bit of leisure time and recuperate from the intensive care. A specifically trained service dog could offer Sibel and her family a certain sense of safety: It can sense oncoming seizures, give warnings for fast help and to motivate Sibel to talk and move. They stand by them through pain, grief, and anger, remain present for as long as they are needed (sometimes for years), and work together with them to find a new perspective on life. In Hamburg alone, WEISSER RING provides approximately 14,000 hours of support to victims and their relatives every year.
