The Junkers Ju 52, also known by the nickname “Tante Ju” and in the English-speaking world as “Iron Annie,” is a three-engine passenger and transport aircraft built by Junkers Flugzeugwerk AG in Dessau. The version commonly referred to today as the Ju 52 is the three-engine Ju 52/3m variant from 1932, which was developed from the earlier single-engine Ju 52/1m.
