The AgustaWestland AW609 – originally designated as the Bell/Agusta BA609 – is a vertical takeoff tiltrotor aircraft similar in concept to the Bell-Boeing V-22. From 2011 onward, the program was continued by AgustaWestland. In 2016, the company was incorporated into the defense group Finmeccanica, which has operated under the name Leonardo since 2017.
